Description
This course meets the requirements of IALA Model course V-103/4 and qualifies the participants to perform On the Job Training for VTS operators. The focus of this training is in education, communication and evaluation.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to perform On the Job Training for new entrants. This implies participating in formal reviews and making recommendations for the designated trainees who are doing the On the Job Training V-103/3.
The course scope is global, and focuses on developing instructors with the ability to teach and evaluate the performance results of the VTS apprentices in the matrix recommended by IALA V-103/3 Model Course. The On the Job Training is done in real time, unlike a classroom exercise. Therefore, the emphasis is placed on situations centred on work and includes the use of learning resources and activities that are readily available at the VTS Centre. The On the Job Training environment intends to focus on small groups and individual instructional techniques.
Currently, SHELTER is the only company accredited by both the Brazilian Maritime Authority and IALA to minister VTS courses in Brazil.
