SHELTER provides a wide range of consulting services in order to assist shipyards on all phases of construction: design, construction, review and delivery. SHELTER’s consultants have over 30 years of experience in the Navy constantly working with ship repair and assisting shipyards in shipbuilding projects.

SHELTER’s services range from assigning an individual shipbuilding consultants to entire teams for designing, developing and managing shipbuilding, ship repair and conversion projects and coordinating the safety and security for both the operations and the shipyard.

Shipbuilding Projects

  • Selection and training of shipbuilding crew during the commissioning phase;
  • Supervision of acceptance tests for naval equipment and systems;
  • Needs assessment and systematization of the planned maintenance tasks for naval equipment and systems;
  • Development of documentation for operational routines and emergencies for naval systems and security;
  • Establishment of Security Crew Card
  • Creation and implementation of security plan;
  • Creation of the master table;
  • Performing the SOPEP;
  • Evaluation of logistical needs for the operation;
  • Technical translations (Naval Systems);
  • Inspection of Salvage equipment;
  • Pre-inspection for conformity approval with the Brazilian legislation, including helideck approval;
  • Certificates auditing issued by classifying bodies; and
  • Application of issues related to the NR-34 – governing norm in Brazil for the Safety and Security in the Shipbuilding Industry.
